A Day in the Life of a Physician

There is no other job more satisfying than being a physician. Enough said. A skilled physician wears many hats … scientist, healer, business exec, detective, counselor, inventor, police officer, nutritionist, and coach to name a few.

Depending on what type of physician you are, you may start your day off in an exam room, emergency room, or operating room. Some physicians work in solo practice, while others work in large practices. Some are independent, while others may be employed by a hospital, clinic, military, government, insurance company, or academic center.

And no matter where they are, they’re the leaders of the health care team. That means that in most situations, they are the main problem solvers and team managers. So to be a physician, you have to be prepared to lead.

But, no matter where you work, all physicians share one thing in common. They’ve worked hard to become physicians so that they might help others with their health.
