Cancer Screenings

Most Pennsylvanians say they are familiar with age-appropriate screenings for cancer with about a quarter of the population knowing all of their age-appropriate screenings.

Furthermore, when asked, the majority of Pennsylvanians are able to identify screening tools used to detect cancer.  However, there is some confusion regarding the importance of eye exams as a screening mechanism. Eye exams can detect brain tumors and signs of other cancers or illnesses.

The Institute for Good Medicine at the Pennsylvania Medical Society recommends the following websites for additional information on cancer and screenings.
