Caryl is married to Tom Schmitz and she manages their solo anesthesia practice in the Gettysburg area. Caryl and Tom have three children: TJ is an aerospace engineer in Denver; Liz is a musical theatre actor in NYC, Joe is a pre-Physical Therapy student at The University of Pittsburgh.
Caryl graduated from Penn State University with a BSN in nursing and was commissioned through the Army ROTC program. She served 5 years of active duty and then moved to Gettysburg. She stays busy keeping up with their children and their business, as well as teaching wine classes. Caryl is active in her community and in her County and State Alliances.
