Dr. John Williams Elected to the AMA’s Council on Medical Education

Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) member Dr. John Williams was elected to the American Medical Association’s Council on Medical Education on June 9, 2015, at the AMA’s annual meeting in Chicago. Dr. Williams, who is also president of the Allegheny County Medical Society, is an anesthesiologist in Pittsburgh.

Founded in 1904 to improve medical education in the U.S., the AMA’s Council on Medical Education develops policy on medical education by recommending educational policies to the AMA House of Delegates, through the AMA Board of Trustees. The Council is also responsible for recommending the appointments of representatives to medical education organizations, accrediting bodies, and certification boards.
