PAMED President Leads New Emergency Management Company

Bruce MacLeod, MD, president of the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) and an emergency physician in Pittsburgh, will be heading up Allegheny Health Network Emergency Medicine Management LLC. This new for-profit company will be managing emergency departments at six of the seven Allegheny Health Network hospitals and two independent hospitals.

Dr. MacLeod also runs West Penn Hospital’s emergency department

“This is a joint partnership between a health system, Allegheny Health Network, and a physician-owned and managed group of emergency medicine professionals, which puts the patient first while seeking to increase value for the health system,” said Dr. MacLeod.

“I am honored to have been chosen to be part of this exciting partnership. There are many opportunities for innovative strategies for population health management.”
