How is it possible that some physicians have already earned over half of the required 100 CME credits for the 2011-2012 licensing cycle and it’s only the beginning of March? The Pennsylvania Medical Society has good news for physicians who plan to become board certified or recertified in 2011 or 2012.
Physicians now have the opportunity to earn 60 AMA-PRA Category I Credits™ for successfully completing Parts 1 through 4 of an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board certification or Maintenance of Certification (MoC) process on or after Sept. 1, 2010.
To claim this credit, physicians must complete a direct credit application and send it to the American Medical Association (AMA). A copy of the board certificate or specialty board notification letter must accompany the application, along with the required processing fee.
