Opioid abuse has become a major problem in Pennsylvania and across the country. The Pennsylvania Medical Society has taken a leadership role in efforts to combat this epidemic, including its recent joint venture with the Corbett Administration to create opioid prescribing guidelines that physicians can use as an informal roadmap to manage the care of patients with chronic pain.
These guidelines were unveiled July 10. In this video, Scot Chadwick and Drs. David Talenti and Gus Geraci discuss the process for creating these guidelines and highlight some of their key elements.
