Physician-Friendly, PAMPAC-Supported Candidate Elected to Fill Vacant State House Seat

The first election of the 2015 cycle occurred on Tuesday, March 24, with a special election to fill the vacancy for state representative in the 170th Legislative District. The PAMPAC -supported candidate, Martina White (R), won decisively with 56 percent of the vote. White is a finance professional and a graduate of Elizabethtown College.

White’s successful election is great news for Pennsylvania’s physicians and represents a strong start to the 2015 election cycle for PAMPAC. White understands the importance of the health care delivery system as well as the many challenges it creates for physicians and their ability to serve patients. She will be a trustworthy and reasonable voice in Harrisburg on critical issues that affect practicing physicians.

This vacancy was created after former State Rep. Brendan Boyle (D) was elected to represent the 13th Pennsylvania Congressional District in November and resigned his State House seat. The 170th Legislative District is located in northeast Philadelphia. White will take office once the election results are certified and she will fill the remainder of the unexpired two year term, which runs until 2016.
